The Cowboy Jubilee: A TNEF Benefit

September 13 @ 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm

The 10th annual Cowboy Jubilee fundraising event benefiting the Nature Education Foundation at the Santa Rosa Plateau is set for September 13th at Galway Downs, the 240-acre premier equestrian facility located east of Temecula.

Now in its 22nd year, the Foundation has brought more than 120,000 students from across Southwest Riverside County to the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve. There, led by the Foundation’s Education Manager, and volunteer docents, the children hike, come in contact with wildlife and learn how to protect our natural world.

Holding the annual event at Galway Downs will bring more exposure to the work the Foundation does, said long-time Executive Director Ginger Greaves.

“It will bring more awareness of all our programs to a wider audience,” Greaves said. “Galway Downs wants to help us to do that.”

Each year more than 8,000 elementary, middle, and high school students participate in programs offered by the Foundation both at the plateau and in their school classrooms. The Foundation also grants scholarships to high school seniors pursuing studies in the environmental sciences and provides teachers with small grants to support their environmental curriculum requirements.

Galway Downs is a premier multi-purpose facility which, in addition to featuring equestrian events, also hosts concerts, weddings, corporate gatherings and a variety of activities. Originally opened in 1968 as a racehorse training facility, Galway Downs was purchased in 2010 by the Smith family and has undergone major renovations in recent years.

This year’s Western and “English” themed celebration will be held on from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., inside the scenic Equestrian Grand Prix Arena, surrounded by Temecula Valley’s rolling hills, vineyards, and wineries.

Guests will be welcomed with complimentary champagne and treated to a Texas-style BBQ dinner, freshly prepared and served at the Grand Prix Outdoor Pavilion. The night’s entertainment includes special horsemanship demonstrations by the 16-member Copper State Peruvian Paso Club and the crowd-favorite, 10-member Temecula Cowgirl Drill Team, a two-time Rose Parade participant.

“(We are) looking forward to hosting a wonderful fundraiser in combination with some of our great equestrians,” said Robert Kellerhouse, the long-time Equestrian Center Manager of Galway Downs.

Following the equestrian exhibitions, guests will dance the night away to classic country-western hits, including a tribute to Toby Keith, performed by the high-energy James Kelly Band. The evening also features an open bar, a Poker Run, 50/50 raffle, and exclusive live auctions, including a once-in-a-lifetime private jet flight for four over the Santa Rosa Plateau.

Advanced purchase is required. Tickets are $100 each, $750 for a table of eight, and an exclusive VIP Grand Prix Ticket Package. Tickets can be purchased at the Foundation’s event website  —  https://tnefcowboyjubilee.net.  Learn more about the Foundation at www.the-nef.org.
